Our batchmates Maduranga Perera, Gayan Ranasinghe and Nalaka Aluthge made the supreme sacrifice for this country during the batte against the terrorists. We paid a special tribute to them when we recognized the contributions of our batchmates in liberating our country.

We visited the residence of our colleague Maduranga Perera and handed over the special plaque we made for him to his dear mother.

Plaques for the other two members will also be handed over to their families.

This year too, we received a JW Black Label with the courtesy of our dear friend Kithsiri Almeida and was auctioned at an astronomical figure of Rs. 30,600.00.

All the members actively supported the auction and the bottle was won by Manju Fernando who as usual graciously donated it back to the batch guys to share it.

We thank Kithsiri for his support and encouragement and Anuruddha for carrying out a fantastic job in raising the bids and getting the higested ever on the auction.

Group of 87 recognized thre contribution of our members who are in the armed forces and police in liberation of our motherland. A special plaque to each of the 27 members were handed over at our 2009 stag night.

We also remembered the 03 members of our batch who sacrificed their lives to save our country. May they attain nibbana.

Yes guys this is none other than our good old Mr. Cooray (Grade 9 / 10 section head) having a good time at the Royal College Past Teachers Association AGM held on the 16th November 2008 at the Wadduwa Beach Resort.

Group of 87 committee was also invited for this event and we all had a great time sharing some good times and past stories.

They were asked to do a short act and one set of teachers had the following to say:

Royal College Group of 87 along with Wild Drift concluded the 2008 Leadership Training program for Royal College Prefects on the 19th October 2008.

This training was conducted at the facility in Bolgoda and was attended by 52 senior prefects.

Wow!!!! What a trip........

We thank all the guys and their families who joined us at Jetwing Seashells for a memorable weekend.

We trust that everyone had great fun and look forward for the next batch trip.

In order to recognize 20 years since we left College, we are planning to carryout a mega project to implement a Document Imaging System for Royal College.

This system will help College to store all the documents on an electronic format and to preserve the College history for many more years to come.

Please download the project proposal that we have prepared and go through it to understand the importance of this project and support us to make this a reality.
