Pandu Kreedawa
Friends,
This is from the very
1st edition of Silumina Newspaper which was printed
on the 30th of March 1930 - the Sunday following the
51st Royal Thomian encounter. Back then, apparently,
the players were allowed to burn [puchchanna]
the opponents if they couldn't get them
out... Hmmm!! 'the School where our fathers learnt'
sounds a much more interesting place than the place
we schooled...
Wonder what happened to the torch referred in "And
we their loyal sons now bear the torch...". Anybody
having it?

attached file: Royal Thomian 51st Encounter.pdf)
Best regards

Kithsiri at the team briefing.
Group of '87 played 02 matches in the tournament and
were unlucky to be selected for the semi final stage
of the tournament. Most members having not played
before was one of the major disadvantages of the
team and they plan to practice more and take part
next year too.
